CURRENT LOCAL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
FUMCE is partnered with our local elementary school to provide financial assistance, food and school supplies for students in need and to provide weekly tutoring.
First UMC of Eustis has partnered with Alee Academy, an alternative school for students who are at high risk for not graduating. Students at Alee are from all over Lake County and 90% come from low income families. We help provide necessary items such as school supplies and food to students including:
cereal, pudding cups, canned chicken, jelly, cereal bars, PB/crackers, juice drinks, soups, fruit cups, canned tuna, peanut butter, Cup-a Soup Noodles
Our TRACK team invites all who are interested in helping serve the local community through Totally Random Christian Acts of Kindness (T.R.A.C.K.).
It’s our privilege to love and support the kids at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home through prayer, financial support and a yearly day of service on their campus.
The Open Door is a resource center sponsored by Life Stream to assist homeless clients. The center doesn’t provide overnight shelter, but provides what is necessary to get a homeless visitor through the day and hopefully back on their feet.

Gleaning is a activity in which fruit/vegetable growers open their fields at the end of regular harvest so that "gleaners" (regular people) can enter the fields/groves/orchards to pick good, useable, but un-gathered produce to provide for families who cannot afford them.
